Australian Immi App
The Australian Government has expanded the Australian Immi App, making the visa process faster, cheaper and more accessible for applicants worldwide. Eligible visa applicants can now submit their facial biometrics and passport details directly through their smartphone, removing the need to attend an in-person biometric collection centre. The app is free to use and helps streamline processing by allowing secure digital submission.
To use the Australian Immi App, applicants must have previously provided biometrics (facial image and fingerprints) to the Department of Home Affairs and must hold a valid passport.
From 24 November 2025, the Department extended the app to an additional 19 countries, bringing the total to 34 supported countries as follows: Algeria, Bahrain, Colombia, Egypt, Fiji, France, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand (third-country nationals), Oman, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, Tonga, Türkiye, Tuvalu, United Arab Emirates and Vanuatu.
This expansion forms part of the Government’s commitment to modernising Australia’s visa system, improving global access and reducing application delays. A final rollout covering all remaining countries in the biometric collection program is planned for early 2026, further enhancing the digital visa experience.
Milne Migration Solutions continues to monitor these updates to help applicants navigate Australia’s evolving visa technology and ensure a smooth, compliant application process.
