What the New Planning Levels Mean
The Australian Government has confirmed the 2026–27 Migration Program at 185,000 permanent visa places, maintaining the same overall allocation as the previous year. While the total number remains unchanged, the distribution of places highlights where migration opportunities are expected to remain strongest.
What Are Migration Program Planning Levels?
Migration Program planning levels are the Government’s annual allocation of permanent visa places across visa categories. They guide migration policy, processing priorities, invitation rounds and visa outcomes, but do not guarantee visa grants.
